T-Jib® Jib/Crane

With T-Jib®, gone are the days of worrying about your prized camera surviving an outing on an entry-level jib. The T-Jib® is a robust, portable, precision-made crane designed to deliver the smoothest camera motion in the industry for light to mid sized cameras and accessories. The T-Jib® assembles in minutes and mounts on many 100 mm heavy-duty tripods or our optional dolly base. With a reach ranging from 6 to 18ft and height from 11 to 22ft, T-Jib®’s modular design allows you to get started with a state-of-the-art crane and add length as your needs and budget dictate.

T-Jib® is packed with innovative features; it is extremely light where it can be and incredibly sturdy where it needs to be. At the heart of T-Jib® is the bearing mounted gimbal. This massive structure is milled from solid billet aircraft aluminum with enormous bearings controlling both vertical and lateral motion. Adjustments for drag are included on both axes and a bubble level assures perfect balance. A robust gimbal is the key to safe, smooth action, and not the place to brag about lightweight… a feature where many jibs fall short.

At the top of the T-Jib® gimbal is the steel center brace. By using square steel tubing and flanges, the T-Jib® is able to achieve superior strength while maintaining a streamlined profile and eliminating big boxy concentric tubing found on other models. Weighing in around 20 pounds, the T-Jib® gimbal is still very portable, but more importantly, it is incredibly stout!

The cantilever pivot allows for multiple mounting locations to effect the motion of the camera plate. In the center position, the camera plate remains level up and down. If you move the pivot point up, the camera looks up when the jib is low and it looks down when the camera is high. This allows the camera to stay trained on your subject during vertical moves without the need for a tilt head. The opposite effect is realized when the pivot point is moved below the center position.

The “T” in T-Jib® stands for truss, one of the many innovative designs of this amazing crane. Truss is a well-known industry standard for superior strength in a lightweight, streamlined profile. Our custom designed and manufactured aircraft aluminum triangular truss arms are an amazing 2 pounds per foot, yet incredibly strong. The result is stable camera motion, minimizing the “bounce” found in many other jibs, while allowing for far less counterbalance weight than competitive models. In fact our 18 foot reach model requires less than 95 lbs of ballast to balance the crane! Additionally, the open architecture and black anodized finish allows for excellent cable management, industry leading aerodynamics to combat windy conditions and a unique, professional appearance.

The business end of the T-Jib® crane is the rock solid aluminum camera plate. Here you will find an included 100mm ball socket to mount your favorite tripod head and camera. Holes are pre-drilled for ¼-20 and 3/8-16 studs for direct camera mounting and an optional aluminum extension plate accommodates longer form factor cameras and pan/tilt heads.

Special Note: (75mm ball heads can be mounted with an optional Bogen / Manfrotto 3426 100 to 75mm step down adapter.)
